Welcome to Junkyard Blogs Directory’s early Tuesday morning edition of Explore Digest Newsletter. Similar to our Roundups, these newsletters are intended mainly for our new followers (and our long time fans as well) to catch up with our links to blogs, websites, and businesses they may not have yet discovered, or to be reminded of to visit. In this digest we are sharing the listings that were posted during the week of Sunday, April 1st, 2018 – Saturday, April 7th, 2018. This was during our 2nd week of posting when we launched this directory. Enjoy, and have a great morning exploring the web at the junkyard 🙂
Welcome to Junkyard Blogs Directory’s 2nd Roundup Digest Newsletter. These weekly newsletters highlight all of the new blogs and business links added to our directory through the past week. These roundup’s are posted on Sunday’s, and are intended to provide you with an overview of the latest websites, blogs, and business discoveries we have for you. You will notice a “post” link at the end of each sites descriptions. These are just internal links to that individual’s post in our directory. This is mainly for our use for easy and quick access to help us maintain our directory should we at some point find a website is no longer available as we do check these links at least once a year. You will also notice that some listings have an RSS link. This indicates we are syndicating that sites latest headlines via RSS. This can give you an idea of what type of content that site is posting about. So here we go with the listings for the week of Sunday, April 1st, 2018 – Saturday, April 7th, 2018.
Academy Of American Poets – The site was launched in 1996, becoming the original online resource for poems, poets’ biographies, essays about poetry, and resources for K-12 teachers. Founded in 1934 in New York City, the Academy of American Poets is the largest membership-based nonprofit organization advocating for American poets and poetry. Its mission is to support American poets at all stages of their careers and to foster the appreciation of contemporary poetry. Each year, the charitable organization connects millions of readers to poets’ work with its many programs and publications, which, in addition to Poets.org, include Poem-a-Day, National Poetry Month (April), American Poets biannual literary journal for members, the American Poets Prizes, Poetry & the Creative Mind, a Fall Conversation Series, and an Education Program that provides free resources, such as lesson plans and Teach This Poem, and the Dear Poet project for K-12 teachers and students. In addition, the organization coordinates the Poetry Coalition, an alliance of more than 20 poetry organizations across the United States.
Poetry Foundation – The Poetry Foundation, publisher of Poetry magazine, is an independent literary organization committed to a vigorous presence for poetry in our culture. It exists to discover and celebrate the best poetry and to place it before the largest possible audience. The Poetry Foundation works to raise poetry to a more visible and influential position in our culture. The Foundation seeks to be a leader in shaping a receptive climate for poetry by developing new audiences, creating new avenues for delivery, and encouraging new kinds of poetry.
